Realty Professionals Must Be Able to Defend Themselves

There’s an old saying – Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

It’s sad but true that being a real estate agent or appraiser can be a dangerous profession. We can never be certain who is going to meet us for a walk-through or come to a lonely open house.

That’s why Tactical Defense Training, Inc., “a recognized leader in law enforcement and military training” is now offering a Mace-based self-defense continuing education course specifically designed for real estate professionals. It has been approved by the Ohio Division of Real Estate Realtor continuing education (CE) hours.

In a Business Wire article, Matt Schaefer, president of TDT said, “‘We would like to provide realtors safety tips that they can take with them when they are out on the job.’

“This course will teach realtors how to keep themselves safe, situational awareness, survival mindset and how to safely and effectively use Mace Brand pepper spray. Realtors will also leave the class with a Mace Brand pepper spray.

“Schaefer is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He has been a police officer since 1995 and has been involved with SWAT since 1996. Matt is a certified instructor in firearms, use of force, SWAT, breaching, dignitary protection, defensive tactics, distraction devices, less lethal munitions and chemical munitions to name a few.”

There are several upcoming Mace-defense CE dates within Ohio including November 29th in Cincinnati. Please click on either of the links above for more information.
